NaNoWriMo 2006

This is my second year participating in National Novel Writing Month, and it's been an interesting experience. It was initially daunting, I admit. There is some truth to NaNoWriMo's contention that the second year of participating is harder than the first. It was that way for me.

I took a week off work earlier this month and ended up taking time off writing as well. So I had to revise my daily word count. I'm at a little more than 35,000 words right now, and I'm on track to make 50,000 if I keep up my current pace. I'm working on my second futuristic.

One of my favorite things about writing are the unexpected turns the story takes. This one has some character developments that surprised me. I do love that feeling. Anyone else doing NaNoWriMo? If so, how are you doing?
